...I hope you are Raquel Allegra. She and I agree that trash can most certainly become a treasure. Raquel alters the knit patterns of leftover clothes and treasures pieces she finds from the LA County jail (marked with a stamp). After wearing her tanks, scarves and t-shirts to work at Barney's, she kept getting requests.This reminds me of how people complement my outifits and are often amazed (or grossed out) that alot of what I wear is thrift. Most of my favorite clothes are things I've thrifted and altered myself. Ultimately I've come to look at clothing this way, it's all just fabric. Depending on how much there is you can manipulate it in a multitude of ways. My only exception is ugly fabric, its not worth the time. But I'm certain that Raquel Allegra's pieces are worthy of being worn and loved.

Some people just don't get it.
They see "used" or "second-hand" as "dirty" or "Stained".
I even had one woman comment on finding out my shirt I was wearing (and she loved) was thrifted, "OMG! Someone could have died in that!"
It's sad really.
my little ten-year-old sister stands at the front of the store when i take her with me to thrift shop. she'll get over it. at least, i hope she will.
and raquel allegra's pieces are beautiful. i wish there was a super easy way to do that.
Wow really cool way of improving clothes. Quite ironic to call it "improving" though. But yeah, they're nice.
And no matter what other people may think, I actually enjoy thrift stuff hunting.
I love the grey vest, it would go with such a multitude ofthings, leather jackets, jeans, boots lace...
Also, I find it weird that more people don't shop in Charity stores/thrift shops. With charity stores, you know your gold is going to a good cause. Also, you can find designer for just a fraction of the price.
I'm all about thrifting and getting insane sales...
